A popular off-season tradition has returned (since December 13) at Callie Opie’s Restaurant.
Owner Mike Kavros and his staff created a Half Price Burger Nite some years back to stimulate off season, weekday business. Little did they know popular the promotion would become.
Each Tuesday through the winter Kavros and his chef craft three special burgers featuring Angus beef, a toasted bun and a combination of toppings.
Patrons line up to get any of three different specialty half-pound burgers for half price with the purchase of any beverage to go with it.
Popular burgers include a version topped with house-made pickled onions and pimento cheese, mushroom and Swiss and the Callie’s Classic.
Doors open at 5 pm every Tuesday night. Reservations are suggested if you don’t want to wait for at able.
