After 30 years in the marina retail management business David Fauntleroy has announced his retirement from Anna Point Marina.
The longtime fixture at the marina is known for his Virginia Tech cap, smiling greeting of, “What’s your name, I’m Dave,” and rarely forgetting a customers’ name no matter how long between visits.
Faunterloy had two turns at the helm of Anna Point Marina. He started in 1989 and finished in 2004 when the marina was sold by Charlie and Judy Titus and bought by Chuck and Jan Meeks. The Spotsylvania native was hired back in by the couple in 2010 and served as retail manager at Fish Tales until February 2024.
Dave ran an active schedule of tournaments out of the marina from 2005-2010, creating such favorites as the Sunday Morning Series (dawn until 11 am), the Big Bass Tournaments, crappie tournaments, the Anna Point Angler Appreciation Tournament and the Kid’s Fishing Tournament.
Fauntleroy will be running his Sunday Morning Series bass tournaments out of Sturgeon Creek Marina this season and enjoying more time to fish himself.
