Cutalong at Lake Anna provided the perfect hospitality and setting for the second annual fundraising golf tournament for New Bridge Fire & Rescue, Station 8 held June 18.
An impressive 94 golfers gathered on a warm day at the internationally recognized golf course where 46 businesses sponsored the tournament and local vendors supplied food and beverages. A dedicated 20 volunteers helped to make the magic happen.
The proceeds from the event will go towards an air cascade system for Station 8, which opened one year ago this month. The air system provides the ability to fill canisters with breathing air to be used by our firefighters for calls as well as training.
“Every breath counts if you’re trapped or trying to get out of a collapse,” said Deputy Chief Chris Lee of Louisa County Fire & Emergency Services.
“Over $28,000 was raised from the event. Thank you to everyone who helped make the event a success!” said Foundation for 24/7 EMS Services at Lake Anna board member Jane Gallagher.
