In 1971, Lake Anna was created to serve as a source of cooling water for Virginia Power’s (now called Dominion) North Anna One and Two nuclear reactors.

When people come to fish Lake Anna they usually pursue one of three species; crappie, largemouth bass or striper. While it’s not a sure bet, you do have good odds to catch all three in one day, if you know where to look.
