Members of the Lake Anna community gathered September 18 at Callie Opie’s Orchard Restaurant to celebrate the popular venue’s seventh anniversary as well as attend a fund- raiser luau dinner that has become an annual tradition.
Owner Mike Kavros was on hand to welcome guests as were Foundation for 24/7 Fire & EMS at LKA board members Pat and Jane Gallagher.
Tickets were sold for the dinner and proceeds were donated to Station 8/New Bridge Fire & EMS to purchase a Cascade Air System – a device that provides air for firefighters to breath.
A Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) Cascade System is a specialized air delivery system that is designed to provide a constant supply of breathable air in an atmosphere that is immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH). The system is frequently used by fire fighters to perform tasks for extended periods of time in high danger environments where normal SCBAs can’t protect them.
