Many of the restaurants here are preparing for the start of tourist season. The lake now has 10 full service restaurants, plus country stores, so you have many options to enjoy as a local foodie or during your visit.   

  Here’s what’s going on around the lake with our culinary establishments.

   Tim’s at Lake Anna is gearing up for an action-packed spring season filled with exciting events, new team members, and the return of live entertainment on a regular basis. 

  Kick off your weekends with crispy, golden fish fry specials at Tim’s every Friday through April 18. Set sail for an adventure-filled night with pirate-themed fun and entertainment at Tim’s Lake Anna Pirate Party March 22. Enjoy fresh crawdads, live music, and a taste of Louisiana during Tim’s Crawdad Festival April 4-6.

  Easter Weekend (April 18-20) is a family-friendly celebration with delicious specials and spring martinis. Tim’s Cinco de Mayo Celebration (May 2-5) features margaritas, tacos, and festive music all weekend long. Tim’s Mother’s Day Celebration is May 9-11.   Tim’s is also bringing back live music on a regular basis, Friday evenings, Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoon.

  Callie Opie’s Spring Menu will be introduced by the end of March as part of the restaurant’s planned quarterly update. Resident foodies and visitors alike will be treated to a repertoire that highlights seasonally available vegetables. Oysters on the half shell will be a new item on the Spring menu as well clams oregenata, a Spring salad a pork ribeye pommeroy, pineapple cashew stir fry and Marry Me Chicken.

  Twisted Rainbow Events will be holding an Arts & Crafts Fair on March 22 at Callie Opie’s. Kavros’s wedding season commences April 15. Live music events are planned almost every weekend at the Callie Opie’s Event Barn.

   Mineral Brewing and Coyote Hole Craft Beverages have a bunch of weekly events that locals love and visitors can enjoy, too, including Music Bingo Night on Wednesdays, Trivia Night on Thursdays and Karoke Night on Fridays.   The first Friday of the month is Comedy Night. Free Western Line Dancing Lesson will be offered March 21 and April 18 at 7 pm.

    Lake Anna’s newest restaurant, the Lion’s Den, has been open since February in what was Tavern on the Rail in the lower lake area off Rt. 618/Frederick’s Hall Rd.

   The menu features steak, veal, pork seafood, chicken and pasta entres, signature cocktails, a vast wine selection and desserts worth saving room for all served in an historic, lovingly renovated general store/train station. Downstairs you’ll find a cozy Speakeasy with it’s own bar and a delightful patio dining area.
