The Cutalong at Lake Anna community has reached another milestonebreaking ground for the project’s golf clubhouse overlooking the back of Contrary Creek.
Reef Management held a ground breaking ceremony on July 30 with over 200 executives, staff, local goverment officials, members and other VIPs in attendance.
When complete this private clubhouse will cater to members, golf and resort guests before and after their rounds with a full-service restaurant and bar. The facility will also accommodate resort guests checking into their stay & play residences and house a golf pro shop. The patio space, located off the first tee box and 18th green, will offer panoramic views of the golf course and provide a world class gathering place for events and socializing.
“Our quiet, little golf course is already recognized as one of the best in the middle Atlantic. The Cutalong Clubhouse will take us to a whole new level. We are greatly looking forward to providing our members and guests with exceptional service and a world class culinary experience, noted Carl Filipowicz, PGA General Manager for Cutalong.
Phase 1 amenities include the golf clubhouse and pavilion, a lakeside marina (first stage), boat rentals, the Blackwater Creek trailhead with comfort stations, four pickleball courts and a fishing pond.
The stay & play villas and cottages will be launched for presales in 2025. The villas feature four bedrooms and four baths, while the cottages offer two bedrooms and two baths. These units will be well-suited for weekend getaways and include the option to book golf packages.
At full build out Cutalong is designed to encompass 891 residences, including single family executive and estate homesites, stay & play golf villas and cottages, condominiums and townhomes.
Louisa County Board of Supervisors Cuckoo District Representative Christopher C. McCotter addressed the attendees at the ground breaking saying: “I am grateful for the foresight and planning invested in this development that has changed the property and lake around it for the better. Prior to Reef Management arriving this property was for years, not an asset to the lake.
Soon after Reef purchased the property staff began working with Louisa County to stabilize sediment and erosion issues and determinedly transformed it into what it is today, 10 years later – a beautiful, environmentally conscious development I had only thought possible in my wildest dreams. That effort was Herculean, and I am grateful.”
Louisa County Board of Supervisors Chairman Duane Adams also addressed those gathered noting that Cutalong had invested around $50 million so far in the site.
“Positive news continues around Louisa County with the recent groundbreaking of the new clubhouse at Cutalong. We were honored to have First Lady Suzanne Youngkin visit and participate in this major investment in the Lake Anna community,” Adams told Life & Times.
Adams introduced Youngkin who accepted an LKA™ tee shirt from him and Lake Anna Outfitters. The First Lady told the crowd that she and her husband were asked by a friend where they should purchase a place to play golf in Virginia and they both noted Cutalong at Lake Anna.
