One local farm family has brought back fresh produce to the Lake Anna community.

The Rigsby family is one of a handful of native locals that continue to farm generational lands around the lake. Mariann Rigsby is the owner/operator of The Farmer’s Family produce stand now open on 1019 Mansfield Road, just off Rt. 522 near Wares Crossroads. Rigsby opened the stand (then called The Farmer’s Daughter) originally five years ago but during Covid shut it down. This season will mark the return of the popular stand.

“We specialize in providing farm fresh produce like corn, tomatoes, squash, peppers, potatoes, onions, beans, non GMO eggs and more as each season arrives,” Rigsby told Lake Anna Life & Times.

Rigsby plans on being open Saturday through Monday 9a-6p.

Just up Rt. 522 locals and visitors will find Century Farm Market. This family owned and operated farm to table business is housed in a beautiful wooden building and features not only produce but the locally famous Century Farms Tomahawk steaks, chorizo, brats and grillers, hand-dipped ice cream from Richlands Creamery, tasty Nightingale ice cream sandwiches and slushies!

Other local favorites include Cowpuccino milk products (half and half, whole, 2% and chocolate), Kunzler bacon, Bumpass Honey Works honey.

Century Farm Market is open Friday 11-5, Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 10-2.
