After 15 years in a 220 sq. ft. building at High Point Marina with no phone line, bathroom or heat, Lake Anna Outfitters is relocating to a 1,900 sq. ft. building at Anna Point Marina.

“We probably outgrew the original building at High Point three years ago, but we were so busy we didn’t focus on the next step. This move to a larger building is the opportunity we were looking for to expand our brand and accommodate more products and customers,” noted founder Christopher C. McCotter. He also thanked Carlos Wood, owner of High Point Marina for helping him create a family business and Lake Anna brand shop that the community grew around.

“When we created and then trademarked LKA™ we had a long-term plan and the journey has been filled with hard work, plenty of sweat and thousands of smiles from our retail and paddling customers. I can remember the day we opened the door to the original shop and got to work transforming it. This is the next leg in the adventure, and we invite everyone to experience it with us,” noted McCotter

The new location will house a business called Lake Anna Outfitters & General Store, where visitors will find the lake’s best selection of apparel, gifts, jewelry, decorative items, plus various apparel categories like men’s and women’s resort wear, LKA™ Pirate Nation, Freshwater USA™ apparel, and returning favorites like LKA™, Unsalted Coast™, Woods&Waters, On Lake Time and Lakeniteasy apparel lines, eyewear, Grandma’s Trunk (games like Lake Anna-opoly, toys and a new Lake Anna puzzle), a Kid’s Corner with squirt guns, water toys and other fun items), a Lake Anna Candy Shop featuring all your old favorites, a Lake Anna Monster Research Group Center, an in-store Christmas Shop, Lake Anna flags, the annual Lake Anna Christmas Ornament and more locally made items from community artists and crafters.

“We want to create that store you go to when on vacation all across the country with something for everyone and well as a gathering spot for locals looking for gifts that tastefully represent their community,” noted McCotter.

The current location housed a property management business and will undergo a renovation this winter to create a shop that reflects the look of a general store/gift shop and a paddling center.

Kayak, paddleboard and canoe rentals will continue out of the new location with waterside racks and floating docks that allow visitors access to the lake via rental craft and the start of the Lake Anna Water Trail – a 3.25 circuit that takes paddlers on a journey to feed Anna Point’s famous Hungry Carp, over to Kayaker’s Beach at the nearby undeveloped shores of Lake Anna State Park, Skinny Dippers Cove and an optional stop at Lake Anna Taphouse or any of the other great restaurants at Lake Anna Island. The shop will also continue to sell Feel Free and Seastream kayaks and paddleboards.

Lake Anna Outfitters & General Store is located in the Anna Point Marina complex at 13708 Anna Point Lane, Mineral, Virginia 23117 across from Home Point (home décor store) and Lake Anna Golf Carts. Fish Tales at Anna Point is the “shore store” also on the premises, so there’s a nice collection of diverse shops to enjoy on a visit.
