One Lake Anna area landmark business is preparing to evolve into a shared vision between the owner and Spotsylvania County planners.

Puneet and Nadia Ahluwalia, owners of Hotel Lake Anna are ready to take the next step in creating a major destination venue and setting the hospitality standard.

“After productive meetings with Spotsylvania County Economic Development Director Kevin Marshall and staff we decided our future path together,” Ahluwalia told Lake Anna Life & Times.

“Lake Anna State Park and the surrounding marinas keep seeing an increase in activity and [Lake Anna Lodge] has been needing a make over for a long time. I am happy to see that the new owners have renovated the hotel and have plans to expand. When visiting the lake visitors have very few options when staying over night. Hotel Lake Anna and their expansion will provide clean, nice accommodations for our visiting anglers and their families,” Marshall told Life & Times.

The couple purchased the old Lake Anna Lodge and accompanying restaurant in 2022 and immediately began transforming their investment. Rooms were gutted and completely redone, new furniture collections and fixtures were brought in creating peaceful sanctuaries for visitors to the lake area. More recently they purchased eight adjoining acres behind the hotel.

According to Ahluwalia the next phase of the ambitious transformation will include a restaurant and lounge (lounge on second story), 6,000 sq. ft. event venue, nine to 12 duplexes for workforce housing, walking trail and pickleball courts.

“Phase one is permits, approvals and design as well as a focus on curb appeal from now through summer. Phase two we hope begins in late October/November when we begin to build our new restaurant with a completion date of May 2025. Phase three will be the upstairs lounge. Phase four is construction of the event venue, duplexes, pool/spa and pickleball courts,” Puneet told L&T.

Ahluwalia says his restaurant/lounge design concept has been inspired by Earl’s in Tyson’s Corner.

“Nadia and I love the lake and we love being a part of this community. This plan will create a tranquil place for our visitors and locals,” Ahluwalia said.
