New Hotel At Lake Should Be Ready By Early Summer

Recent excavation and construction activity at a site located next to Tim’s on the North Anna arm of the lake indicates plans are moving forward to increase long-awaited additional lodging options for Lake Anna visitors.

Reef Private Equity acquired The Boardwalk at Lake Anna from developer Gary Griffith in October 2022, which includes the existing two-level structure housing Tim’s at Lake Anna, Moo Thru, Below Deck, Mid Atlantic Water-sports, LKA Watersports and an arcade.

Griffith had initially developed the 4.972-acre parcel with plans to build a hotel next to the first building and had received Louisa County approval but never started the project.

According to Reef’s East Coast Development Project Manager Archie McDonnel, it’s full speed ahead to build a 34-key boutique hotel adjacent to the current building.

McDonnel told Life & Times. “We are planning on a 12-month construction window and to be open for the busy season 2024.”

Reef Private Equity is a real estate investment, development, and management firm based in Lehi, Utah that is a subsidiary of Reef Capital Partners. They also own the Cutalong Golf Course Community at Lake Anna.

Mineral District Louisa County Supervisor Duane Adamsa noted, “The long anticipated construction of the boutique hotel at The Boardwalk is a welcome addition to the Lake Anna area. Not only will this facility provide much needed lodging for the lake community it will also provide jobs.

“I’m pleased to see the additional quality economic development in the Mineral District”.
