As the center of performance, visual, musical and cultural arts for the Lake Anna area, the Louisa Arts Center (LAC) provides high-quality entertainment and art exhibitions to brighten the lives of the residents of Louisa County and its surrounding areas. Whether you are looking to attend a concert or live, theatrical production in the Cooke-Haley Theater, observe or display artwork in our Purcell Art Gallery, participate in an art class in our Pamela Higgins Stone Art Studio, or attend any of our free family-friendly events, there are many ways to get involved at the Louisa Arts Center located a short drive from most of the lake in nearby Louisa!

Experience exceptional performances, lectures and more in the LAC’s intimate, acoustically resonate 205-seat theater. Diverse performances include live theatre, genre-spanning concerts including our Steinway grand piano, musical icons, and CMA & Grammy Award winning artists.

The Purcell Art Gallery features frequent showings by local and regional artists. Thought-provoking sculpture, pottery, paintings and more can be viewed.

Enjoy free outdoor events on the center’s beautiful terrace from local musicians. The LAC’s Music & Wine series takes place on the second Friday of the summer months from 6 pm to 8 pm. Beer, wine, and soft drinks are available for purchase and kids will have the opportunity to create a free craft on our Mobile Arts Outreach Program bus. Bring your lawn chairs, a picnic basket, and be ready for a fun-filled evening perfect for the entire family!

Camps of all kinds are held for youth at the LAC including Art Camp, Camp Sight & Sound, Cinematography Camp and Camp Curtain Call that culminates in a ensemble performance by the attendees.

Monthly painting and ceramics classes and the annual Louisa County Public School Student Gallery are three more reasons to visit the Louisa Arts Center. The annual Silver Tie Gala fundraiser event in October draws LKA Gliteratti for a good cause and is one of the year’s biggest drawing performances.
