Lake Anna Rescue, Inc. (LARI) is thrilled to announce that after two years of fundraising it has purchased a new rescue boat.
LARI President Troy Dillard told Life & Times the boat is a 2025 Stanley all-welded aluminum 22’ center console rescue landing craft powered by a 250 hp Yamaha outboard sitting on a tandem axle aluminum trailer. It wil be equipped with a Hale 500 gpm fire pump, a square 65” power drop bow gate, removable manual lifting davit, fold down side doors with ladder and
simmers grab bar, Raymarine Sonar, VHF & marine radio and a Flir thermal imaging camera.
Dillard is hoping the boat will be rigged, water-tested and ready just in time for the July 4 celebrations. This new LARI asset will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of all who enjoy Lake Anna.
“We are deeply humbled by the overwhelming support from our community. This rescue boat will be a game-changer for us, enabling our team to respond effectively to emergencies on the lake,” said Dillard.
LARI is located in Bumpass, just minutes from the lake and serves most of the lower end of the lake and the Waste Heat Treatment Facility (cooling ponds/hot side). It is an all-volunteer rescue squad.
