The Lake Anna Business Partnership (LABP) recognized its persons of the year at the February Business After Hours held at Callie Opie’s event barn. Nominees for Business Person of the Year included Chris Denkers of Coyote Hole Craft Brewing, Lindsey McClellan/Jimmy Snyder of Sunset Properties Lake Anna and Sam Smith of iWisp. Attendees voted for the winner at the meeting. When all votes were cast and counted, McClellan and Snyder were declared Business Person (s) of the year.
“It’s an incredible honor to receive the LABP Business Person of the Year award. When Jimmy and I opened Sunset Properties in 2022, our goal was to provide an exceptional real estate experience for our clients. Receiving this award affirms that our community agrees that we are accomplishing that goal. We appreciate each and every person that has supported our business and helped us grow. We’re overwhelmed by the love and support we feel from our Lake Anna community and are so grateful,” McClellan told Lake Anna Life & Times.
Lake Anna developer and long-time LABP member Gary Griffith was recognized with Legacy Award – a distinction given to those members of the Lake Anna community that have been pioneers in their fields and helped the lake grow. Griffith was an early board member of LABP that developed many subdivisions around the lake including The Boardwalk at Lake Anna, Sunset Cove and his final project – Sunset Point. He also founded Dockside Realty.
“It’s been an amazing life at the lake and I’ve had a lot of fun meeting some great people along the way. LABP has been a great organization to watch grow, and I’m glad to have played a part in the lives of it and so many people that have come to live at the lake.”
Anna Prezioso’s The Mad Batter Bakery was recognized as the LABP Best New Business. Prezioso and her family run bakery in nearby Mineral opened last year and instantly become popular among LKAers and county residents that loved her homemade cupcakes and cakes that featured elaborate decorations. Prezioso even did a series of cupcakes named after locals and landmarks and a 12 days of Christmas series of cupcakes.
