Elk Creek Baptist Church on Kentucky Springs Rd. has installed a new pastor.

Rev. Michael Gray was born into an Air Force family at Tyndall Air Force Base, Panama City, FL, that included an older sister and two younger brothers. He married his wife Cathy Lee Graefe in St. Petersburg, FL and they have been married for 50 years and have two daughters and now five grandchildren.

Gray holds a Bachelor of Arts from Palm Beach Atlantic University and a Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He was called to the ministry in 1972 and was ordained on March 16, 1975.

Starting out as a youth minister, following seminary he has served three pastorates, one in Kentucky, and two in Virginia, including serving into his 30th year as pastor of Newington Baptist Church in Gloucester, and most recently as an interim pastor at White Stone Baptist Church.  His hobbies include kayaking, walking, fishing, hiking, and reading.
