As the weather gets warmer and the lake comes alive with recreational boaters, the anticipation for one annual event continues to grow, the Lake Anna Civic Association 4th of July Firework display. The show is set up along Dike 2, and viewers can anchor and see the fireworks regardless if they are on the public or private side.
This is the 28th annual firework show, and it is completely funded by donations, with the 2025 goal set at $45,000.
The event will occur on Saturday, July 5, 9:15 pm and will take about 30 minutes. In the case that it rains, the fireworks may start after the rain stops and could take up to an hour to begin. If it is still raining at 11 pm, the show will go on in the rain. The morning of, organizers will check the weather and decide if the display should be moved to the following Saturday, and if so information will be posted at www.lakeannavirginia.org.
For the safety of yourself and others, use your bow and stern lights when moving and the stern light ONLY if anchored. Practice boating safety and courtesy if outside the NO WAKE viewing zone.
Personal watercraft are NOT PERMITTED after dark. State and local law enforcement will be present to keep the viewing area safe.
